We make our way through France and into Spain and the town of Bilbao.
Bilbao, an industrial port city in northern Spain, is surrounded by green mountains. It’s the de facto capital of Basque Country, with a skyscraper-filled downtown. It’s famed for the Frank Gehry–designed Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which sparked revitalization when it opened in 1997. The museum houses prominent modern and contemporary works, but it’s the curvy, titanium-clad building that receives the most attention.

 Day 3

León, a city on the Bernesga River in northwest Spain, is the capital of the Province of León. It’s home to many churches and cathedrals noted for their architecture and art. Seville is the capital and largest city of the Spanish autonomous community of Andalusia and the province of Seville. It is situated on the lower reaches of the River Guadalquivir, in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula.

We move on to the beautiful town of Ronda.
Ronda is a mountaintop city in Spain’s Malaga province that’s set dramatically above a deep gorge. This gorge (El Tajo) separates the city’s circa-15th-century new town from its old town, dating to Moorish rule. Puente Nuevo, a stone bridge spanning the gorge, has a lookout offering views. New town’s Plaza de Toros, a legendary 18th-century bullring, is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.

Day 6
We start to head north through the mountains to Honrubia Castile.
Honrubia is a charming small town in Spain, known for its rich history and local cuisine. Visitors can explore historical sites, enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and wine tasting, and experience the friendliness of the locals. However, the town has limited nightlife and public transport, and English is not widely spoken. Despite these challenges, Honrubia offers a unique and authentic Spanish experience.

You will be staying at the Parador de Alarcon.
The Parador de Alarcón is located in a castle with more than 13 centuries of history, originally built by the Arabs and later conquered by Alfonso VIII. This castle, which dominates the town of Alarcón, has witnessed various construction stages, including Gothic and Renaissance styles, and has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. The Parador, which occupies part of the castle, offers an experience that combines medieval history with modern comforts.
