The first hotels, including the "Regina del Bosco" hotel, a former hunting residence of the Habsburg, were built about a century ago. The sunny and panoramic position of Ronzone delights visitors with a view of the entire Val di Non. Today, the village is divided into the older southern part and the more recent residential area in the upper part of the village.
In the centre stands the parish church in modern Romanesque style with its high, detached bell tower with its pointy pinnacle. Art enthusiasts will enjoy the remarkable Via Crucis by Carlo Bonacina and the nearby, ancient S. Antonio church. The ancient chapel in the centre is famous for its life-sized Christ at the Column, created 300 years ago. Following a devastating fire in 1891, the village was completely rebuilt and acquired its current structure.

Day 6

We make our way up to Switzerland national Park and onto Davos and our hotel in Lucerne.
The mighty spectacle of nature in the Swiss National Park.
The Swiss National Park is a symbol of the region's unique diversity and an attraction for nature lovers and hikers alike. The largest wilderness area in Switzerland covers 170 square kilometres unspoilt natural landscape and 100 kilometres of marked hiking trails. Founded in 1914, the National Park is not only the only one in Switzerland, but also the oldest in the Alps and Central Europe. This unique natural oasis is characterised by its unique high alpine flora and fauna: Deer, marmots, bearded vultures and the national park's heraldic animal, the pine jay, reside here all year round, while the rich flora really blossoms, especially in July and August. The National Park also includes the "Macun" high plateau at 2600 m above sea level above Lavin with its more than 20 mountain lakes – it is particularly rich in ibex and chamois. Together with Val Müstair and parts of the Lower Engadine municipality of Scuol, the Swiss National Park was also officially recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Engiadina Val Müstair on 13 June 2017.

Davos is located in the east of Switzerland in the canton of Graubünden. The highest city in Europe, it is also the largest alpine mountain holiday and congress destination in Switzerland.

Day 7

Battle of Verdun, (February 21–December 18, 1916), World War I engagement in which the French repulsed a major German offensive. It was one of the longest, bloodiest, and most-ferocious battles of the war; French casualties amounted to about 400,000, German ones to about 350,000. Some 300,000 were killed.

Day 8
10am start.
Making our way up to your last stay of your tour .
Chateau Clery.

The Château d’Hesdin-L’Abbé, located in the heart of the Boulonnais countryside, has been home to the magnificent Cléry Hotel for over 30 years.
Prestigious guests who have marked its history include Louis-Alexandre Berthier, General Major of the Grande Armée of Napoleon I.
The estate is stunning. It’s a real gem! The Cléry Hotel enjoys a sublime setting tucked away in the Boulonnais hinterland in Hesdin-l'Abbé. Just imagine 27 rooms and suites spread across this 18th century château, with farmhouses and former stables converted into cottages and all located at the heart of a five-hectare estate. Imagine avenues lined with century-old trees... The whole scene is infused with calm, grandeur and serenity. Here, just a few minutes from the main seaside resorts, you will feel a world away from all the hustle and bustle of life.
An 18th century manor house
This little corner of paradise was completed in 1766. Built by the architect Giraud Sannier, who needs no introduction in Boulonnais, this magnificent abode was the country residence of Michel Cléry de Bécourt. You might be interested to know that Michel Cléry de Bécourt created the first hot seawater baths in France in Boulogne-sur-Mer in 1785. His country house was one of the most luxurious in the area and was a symbol of his social advancement. An obelisk and columns decorated the cour d'honneur...
General Berthier
General Berthier knew the estate well from his time spent at the Camp of Boulogne between 1803 and 1805. The Minister of War and Chief of the General Staff had in fact stayed in the château on numerous occasions during this time. Even today, the Camp of Boulogne cannot be mentioned without still using Berther’s name, as he had the difficult task of dividing up the army known as the Côtes de l'Océan into six camps and of managing around 120,000 men positioned around Boulogne-sur-Mer.
A sophisticated hotel and restaurant
Since 1986, the Cléry Hotel has taken over the château and now immerses guests in its stunning surroundings. There is a nod to its history, with the 4-star restaurant named after the famous general. A sophisticated cuisine is on offer using local ingredients, which can be enjoyed looking out over a breathtaking view of the grounds.

Day 9
We travel to Calais and home.
To catch the 11am Euro crossing. 10 m Check in.
