A Normandy chateau with the air of an English manor, wooded grounds which seem to stretch to the horizon... On pushing open the door you will immediately be seduced by the comfortable, warm atmosphere, where the stone walls are given a soul by the Bergeron family.

Day 2 Leaving at 8am making our way through France to the Island of I'l lde Re where we will be staying in St Martin's.
Île de Ré is an island off the west coast of France. It’s known for its salt marshes and beaches like the Plage de la Conche des Baleines, backed by dunes and pine trees. Nearby, the Phare des Baleines is a lighthouse offering expansive views. The main town of St-Martin-de-Ré has the 17th-century Fortifications of Vauban, plus outdoor cafes overlooking the marina. Bicycle paths crisscross the island.

Day 3 We make our way through France and into Spain and the town of Bilbao.
Bilbao, an industrial port city in northern Spain, is surrounded by green mountains. It’s the de facto capital of Basque Country, with a skyscraper-filled downtown. It’s famed for the Frank Gehry–designed Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which sparked revitalization when it opened in 1997. The museum houses prominent modern and contemporary works, but it’s the curvy, titanium-clad building that receives the most attention.

Day 4 You leave Bilbao making your way through the Northern Spanish mountains to our Hotel Leon.
León, a city on the Bernesga River in northwest Spain, is the capital of the Province of León. It’s home to many churches and cathedrals noted for their architecture and art. Among them is the Gothic 13th-century Catedral de Léon, with its towers and flying buttresses. The Romanesque 10th-century Basílica de San Isidoro is known for its frescoes and royal tombs

Day 5 We travel Down to Seville where we will stay the night.
Seville is the capital and largest city of the Spanish autonomous community of Andalusia and the province of Seville. It is situated on the lower reaches of the River Guadalquivir, in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula.

Day 6 We move on to the beautifull town of Ronda.
Ronda is a mountaintop city in Spain’s Malaga province that’s set dramatically above a deep gorge. This gorge (El Tajo) separates the city’s circa-15th-century new town from its old town, dating to Moorish rule. Puente Nuevo, a stone bridge spanning the gorge, has a lookout offering views. New town’s Plaza de Toros, a legendary 18th-century bullring, is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.

Day 7 We start to head north through the mountains to Honrubia Castile.
Honrubia is a charming small town in Spain, known for its rich history and local cuisine. Visitors can explore historical sites, enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and wine tasting, and experience the friendliness of the locals. However, the town has limited nightlife and public transport, and English is not widely spoken. Despite these challenges, Honrubia offers a unique and authentic Spanish experience.

You will be staying at the Parador de Alarcon.
The Parador de Alarcón is located in a castle with more than 13 centuries of history, originally built by the Arabs and later conquered by Alfonso VIII. This castle, which dominates the town of Alarcón, has witnessed various construction stages, including Gothic and Renaissance styles, and has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. The Parador, which occupies part of the castle, offers an experience that combines medieval history with modern comforts.

Day 8 We travel up through the Spanish countryside to the Pyrenees and stopping in Torla.
Torla-Ordesa, also known simply as Torla, is a picturesque village in the Spanish Pyrenees, serving as the gateway to the stunning Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. The area is renowned for its incredible natural beauty, making it a paradise for hikers, nature lovers, and those seeking a tranquil escape in the mountains.

Day 9 We travel north through France to a beautiful Chateau just outside Tours.
The building in which you will stay boasts a rich history. Built in the neo-Louis XIII style with Tudor influences, it was built by Ernest Martell in 1864.
This private house had many owners before becoming the family hotel near Tours that it is today. It was notably a domestic science school, owned by the Indre-et-Loire department, and also a home for young girls.
Throughout its history, the Château has hosted several prominent figures, such as Marie Bonaparte, Georges Feydeau, and the widow of the creator of Abbé Soury's Elixir of Youth.

Day 10
We leave the Chateau and head home to calais and catch the tunnel home.
